About

Establish yourself as a leader in human services. The Leadership in Human Services (with specialisations) from Charles Sturt University equips you with high-level critical analysis skills and advanced practice knowledge to facilitate your progress as a specialist human services manager.

Overview

Designed to meet the diverse professional needs and challenges of those working in government and non-government human services roles, this degree provides expertise in human services management and social policy. You can also choose to specialise in an area that aligns with your career goals: Child Youth and Family Practice, Ecological and Social Change, or Management

The Master of Leadership in Human Services (with specialisations) prepares you to analyse, plan and implement social policies to enhance the quality of the human services field you work in. It also enables you to demonstrate critical, analytical and reflective management skills. You'll gain a high-level understanding of contemporary issues, challenges and future directions for the industry.

With Charles Sturt University you'll have the option to complete your degree by research or coursework. In the research strand, you'll develop specific skills in research and evaluation by completing core subjects and a research dissertation in an area of interest or relevance to your workplace. If you choose the coursework strand, you'll take a selection of core and elective subjects to augment your professional skills in human services.

In addition to the research and coursework options, and a broad-based generic degree, this degree offers three specialisations. You can choose to tailor your studies to management; ecological and social change; or child, youth and family practice.

If it's flexibility you're looking for, Charles Sturt University has study options to suit you. Choose from full-time and part-time offerings to complement your work and family commitments. Part-time study allows you to implement the knowledge you are gaining directly at your workplace.

Charles Sturt University is a well-established provider of human service education, and our academic staff are highly experienced in social welfare practice. Right from the start of your course, you'll benefit from personal contact and support for your learning needs.
