Overview

The Research in Science and Engineering program offered by Macquarie University is a unique postgraduate research training degree that will equip you to complete a PhD within three years, if further research is your goal. With mentoring from experts in your field, you’ll specialise in research preparation and focus on a specific research topic at the sub-discipline level to deliver a 20,000-word thesis. The degree also provides a strong background for employment in a range of national and international non-academic settings.

Completion of the MQ Graduate Diploma of Research with a WAM of 65+
OR an AQF-8 or higher award (Bachelor Honours, Graduate Diploma, Master by coursework) from a recognised institution in a related field of study or equivalent Applicants with MQ qualifications from 2020 onwards (WAM): 65 overall, and 70 in the final year of a Bachelor Honours or highest level study.
All other applicants (GPA): 4.38/7 overall, and 5.25/7 in the final year of a Bachelor Honours or highest level of study
