Overview
The course is designed for students who studied a different subject in their undergraduate degree, and for those who hold a psychology degree that has not been accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS) so they can obtain the BPS Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership (GBC).You'll study biological psychology, cognitive psychology, developmental psychology, individual differences, social psychology, research methods, conceptual and historical issues in psychology alongside unique modules in forensic psychology and cyberpsychology.
At Brighton you'll be taught by an experienced team with a range of psychology specialisms, as well as visiting lecturers who will share their sector experience.
Becoming a psychologist
British Psychological Society (BPS) accreditation is in progress for this new course and will be in place before it begins in September 2026.
The British Psychological Society (BPS) is the UK’s independent regulator of the psychology profession. Our Psychology degree follows the BPS curriculum which means the content of your course prepares you for entry to the profession and for Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership (GBC) of the BPS.
Graduate Basis is the first step in becoming a Chartered Psychologist and enables you to begin further training and to become, for example, a forensic, educational or occupational psychologist.
