Occupational Therapy (Pre-Reg) from Anglia Ruskin University is open to graduates with excellent communication skills, who are resourceful, practically minded, comfortable in various environments and want to support people regain their lives. Occupational therapy is a growing healthcare role in the UK. With an increase in patients with long-term and complex health needs, alternative treatment pathways are essential to provide a framework of options to support patients. Our pre-registration Masters degree will prepare you to join this area and make a change.
Whether you choose to study at our Chelmsford or Cambridge campus, we’ll support you to take a whole-person approach to both mental and physical health and wellbeing.
On placement, you’ll experience various settings including community services, NHS Trusts, local authorities and private providers. Most of your theory will be taught in Year 1, alongside preparation for placements. In Year 2, you’ll spend most of your time out on block placements.

General requirements
- A first degree, with honours, at a minimum final classification of Upper Second (2:1). Applicants with a final classification of Lower Second (2:2) or equivalent, relevant work experience and postgraduate study will be considered.
- If English is not your first language you will be expected to demonstrate a certificated level of proficiency of at least IELTS 7.0 ( Academic level), or equivalent English Language qualification, as recognised by Anglia Ruskin University.
- To receive an offer of a place on this course you must be successful at interview.
- An Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) disclosure will also be required.
- A satisfactory Occupational Health clearance will also be required.
