General requirements
- You should usually have an upper second class (2.1) (or equivalent) honours degree (or higher) in psychology, counselling or a relevant professional area. Degrees in helping professions such as mental health, physiotherapy, nursing, teaching, social work, care sectors, or similar will be considered.
- All suitable applicants will be invited to attend an interview and provide proof of one-to-one basis work experience in a helping role via CV and during the interview.
- You will also need to provide two satisfactory references (one for academic capacity and one for work/voluntary experience).
- We may also ask you to provide a portfolio.
- This course involves working unsupervised with children and/or vulnerable young people and adults and you must gain an Enhanced Disclosure certificate from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) before starting your studies.
