You will develop competency and skills that include the latest advances in engineering disciplines related to energy systems, sustainability and economics. In addition to covering the latest engineering technology, you will be equipped with the creative, commercial and management skills that are necessary to be an innovator, entrepreneur and industry leader.

As part of the Sustainable Energy Systems with Management programme from Queen's University Belfast , guest lectures are provided by industry professionals and research experts to show the practical implementation of the theoretical concepts of decarbonisation via real world examples.

The programme consists of 6 taught modules (120 CATS) running in Autumn and Spring semesters with a research Dissertation (60 CATS) undertaken during the Summer semester. Students may propose their own Dissertation topic (subject to review), or select from a variety of novel, industrially relevant research projects with access to unique laboratory facilities and technical expertise.

In the UK we are ranked 9th for Aerospace Engineering & 15th for Mechanical Engineering. We put emphasis on active, collaborative, problem-based learning, and invest heavily in our state-of-the-art facilities and flexible project spaces.

Normally a 2.1 Honours degree or equivalent qualification acceptable to the University in any of the following disciplines: Engineering or Science. Applicants from Medicine and Health, Business, Management, or a related discipline will be considered on case-by-case basis.
Well-qualified candidates or industry professionals from other numerical disciplines who have a sufficient knowledge of computational aspects of Engineering or Science, or Economics or Accounting may be considered.
Applicants with entry qualifications below 2.1 Honours will be considered on an individual basis based on a Recognition or Prior Experiential Learning (RPEL) assessment, in line with the University Procedures for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). Such candidates may be interviewed to assess their suitability to demonstrate their industry experience, numerical skills and language ability.
