Overview
The Mathematics program at King Khalid University aims to graduate students who possess a comprehensive understanding of mathematical concepts, theories, research, and modern developments in mathematics by providing an integrated academic environment and research that meets the needs of society and promotes the knowledge economy.
Objectives
- Possess a deep, graduate-level understanding of the fundamentals of mathematical analysis, abstract algebra, and applied mathematics.
- Develop critical thinking skills and the ability to synthesize diverse mathematical concepts to arrive at specific conclusions regarding mathematical problems.
- Acquire in-depth theoretical and practical knowledge in a specific field of study.
- Demonstrate the ability to conduct a research project and effectively communicate its findings to the research community.
- Demonstrate essential academic qualities such as self-directed learning, independence, responsibility, professional ethics, intuition, and proactive engagement
Knowledge:
- Formulate the fundamentals of mathematics.
- Write the defining characteristics of a branch or branches of mathematics.
- Recognize the properties of some applications of mathematics.
- Understand the mathematical principles and methods used in some applications.
- Communicate effectively by conveying mathematical concepts and methods and their relevance to problems across different disciplines.
- Work effectively, independently or as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Identify, select, plan (including resource planning), use, and evaluate IT applications and strategies to enhance the achievement of desired goals and outcomes.
- Take full responsibility for initiating, defining, modifying, and achieving desired goals and outcomes, using new skills/techniques as required.
- Demonstrate awareness and personal qualities that positively impact the workplace
