The Master of Arts in Theoretical Linguistics program at King Saud University aims to provide students with the basic knowledge, skills, and theoretical foundations of the field of theoretical linguistics by introducing them in depth to the multiple fields of theoretical linguistics(to the multiple fields of theoretical linguistics in great detail in order to help them) qualify to teach at the university level, to work in the public or private sector, or to complete their graduate studies to obtain a doctorate in theoretical linguistics or other related fields.

Applicant must hold a full-time bachelor’s degree in English, Arabic, computer science, psychology, or relevant disciplines from KSU or any university accredited by Ministry of Education with a minimum of an “above average” (3.25/5) or equivalent; for relevant disciplines, the applicant must refer to the concerned department before starting the application process on the electronic portal.
A score of at least 6 in Academic IELTS, or equivalent in the TOEFL test.

Passing a written examination held by the department.
