Cancer Sciences (Online) Queen Mary University of London

Overview

This programme gives you a thorough grounding in cancer sciences with the opportunity to specialise in one of three streams, which means you can align your studies with your interests and career aspirations.

Teaching

You’ll be taught through a variety of teaching and learning methods, including seminars, self-directed learning, one-to-one tutorials, case presentations, and reading lists of books and journal papers. Dissertations and Lab Projects will be supervised by a Barts Cancer Institute (BCI) researcher. 

Choose to study full-time, part-time, starting in January or September, so you can choose the option that works best for you. If you study part-time, the modules you’ll need to complete the programme will be spread over two years.

We take pride in the nurturing relationship we have with our students. You’ll be assigned an Academic Mentor, who will guide you in both academic and pastoral matters throughout your time at Queen Mary.

Career paths 

You’ll leave this programme with the knowledge and practical skills to equip you for a career in academia, clinical settings, or the biotech/biopharma industry. Past Barts Cancer Institute graduates have gone on to careers in the biotech and life sciences sectors, hospital settings, research and to PhD and MD study.
