Overview
Designed for those who work in the IT industry and wish to further their career in Artificial Intelligence (AI), the Master of Artificial Intelligence at RMIT University provides students with a broad range of high-level computing knowledge, as well as insight into the design and implementation of AI systems, allowing them to become experts in the field.
With AI computer systems now involved in decision-making across both the public and private sectors, AI as an industry is developing rapidly. This speed of growth will only accelerate in the future.
This program comes with conditional accreditation from the Australia Computer Society (ACS), meaning graduates will join a professional association with over 47,000 members, representing Australia’s technology community across industry, government and education. To be a part of ACS greatly enhances the ability to find employment internationally.
The program offers two options in the second year
- Project: Alongside choosing two electives, this stream gives the student the opportunity to partake in a practical and applicable AI project over a semester, dependent on their field of interest, with industry partners
- Research: Students will choose a specific interest for concentrated study and will be required to deliver a minor thesis. This opens pathways to more research, as well as to a PhD program
