Generating electrical energy from clean energy sources, delivering it to consumers, and even storing it is only possible with "Power Electronics" technologies. The primary objective of this programme is to train the necessary Graduate Engineers in this field, which has seen intense Research and Development efforts in recent years and has begun to offer ample job opportunities.

Power electronics plays a crucial role in generating and efficiently utilizing electrical energy from clean energy sources. Power electronics, a hybrid field based on the conversion and control of electrical energy, encompassing electricity, electronics, and control theory, is a constantly evolving and expanding field of study.

Power electronics, which has found a significant place in modern technology, is used in applications such as wind turbines, solar cells, piezoelectric systems, fuel cells, and high-voltage direct current transmission, as well as in robotics, aerospace technology, automotive technology, communication systems, electric motor control, uninterruptible power supplies, electric and hybrid electric vehicle propulsion systems, temperature, lighting, and location control, and factory automation.

The Power Electronics and Clean Energy Systems (Thesis) programme from Istanbul Okan University has been developed at the Istanbul OKAN University Institute of Science to train researchers and expert engineers who are competent in the subjects outlined above and equipped with the technical knowledge needed by the industry.
