Overview
Each programme is aligned to the research conducted within Electronic Engineering . It is the normal expectation that the independent research thesis should be of at a standard publishable in a high quality peer reviewed journal. Each MRes shares the taught element of the course. After successful completion of the taught element you are then able to specialise in a specific subject for your thesis.
Careers
Graduates of these courses have gone on to work in various branches of the Electronics industry, for example optical communications and telecommunications companies, government research facilities like GCHQ, and various nanotechnology enterprises, from start-ups to multinational companies.
Many MRes students will continue postgraduate study after graduating, going on to MPhil and Phd programmes. Whatever your final destination, Electronic Engineering graduates from Bangor University will have demonstrable independent research skills and the ability to scope and manage complicated technical projects. You will also have developed scientific and engineering skills specific to your particular area of study, from scanning probe microscopy to finite element modelling which are of immediate applicability in technical industries.
