Overview
The Research Methods for Social Sciences course from Westminster International University in Tashkent is based on a unique combination of learning and practice in three dimensions important for research: training on hard skills in research, soft and transferable skills, and applied research practices envisaged by developing individual dissertation work and a team-based Community Project that will provide research-based solutions to a real-life problem.
Being a core part of the Graduate School, the MSc in Research Methods for Social Sciences course is a strategic course of WIUT. In 2023, WIUT was awarded the Top University ‘“Scopus Award - 2023” for its scientific achievements in “Societal Impact of Research: Social Sciences”. The course is suitable for all candidates who wish to prepare for PhD (both local and international), and enhance research competences.

- Graduates may be employed as research analysts, research specialists, senior researchers, or data analysts in various industries, in private and public companies. Graduates motivated to pursue an academic career will be well prepared to advance to a Ph.D. locally and abroad.

Applicants should normally hold an Undergraduate degree (or equivalent) from a recognised higher education institution with a minimum of a second lower class honours (2:2 or equivalent).
Applicants without a formal higher education qualification or a formal qualification that is not at an equivalent academic standard, may be considered if the following conditions apply:
- They are or have been in employment where their role is in the area of the course and involves a high level of analysis and critical thinking.
