Overview

The Midwifery course from Adelaide University will enable you to build critical thinking, analysis, innovation, leadership, and research skills.

You’ll have the opportunity to tailor your studies to areas that interest you by selecting from a wide variety of electives. From second year you’ll further focus your learning by selecting either the clinical or research stream. Your learning will culminate in demonstrated clinical application that addresses a specific issue or through producing an original research publication or thesis.

Your learning will be enhanced through immersion in cutting-edge technologies and advancements within the midwifery field. You’ll explore innovative tools and techniques that’ll empower your practice and provide you with the confidence to pioneer improved family and woman-centred care.

The Master of Midwifery is part of a nested suite of programs. You can choose to exit early with a Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma in Midwifery.

To be eligible, an applicant must have achieved the following minimum entry requirements and demonstrate they fulfil any prerequisite and essential criteria for admission. In cases where there are more eligible applicants than available places, admission will be competitive with ranks based on the entry criteria.

A completed bachelor degree (AQF level 7) or higher from a recognised higher education institution in the field of Midwifery; AND
Hold or be eligible to hold registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA).
