More than a technique, a visual narrative that makes an impact

Styling and creative direction are a crucial part of fashion communication, transforming concepts into visual narratives that capture the essence of a brand or collection. This course will take you to the heart of the creative process, exploring how to devise innovative concepts, build coherent visual aesthetics and use the tools of photography to express style ideas. You will work with international lecturers and professionals – stylists, creative directors and photographers – who will guide you in developing your visual storytelling skills. Through practical projects, you will learn how to coordinate every aspect of creative production, from the moodboard to outfit selection and the direction of photo and video sets. The course ends with the creation of a personal project, which will be added to your portfolio together with the projects developed during the year and will be a powerful tool to introduce you to the professional world.

Accreditation

The Master is accredited by the Guglielmo Marconi University of Rome. Upon successful completion, Raffles Milan awards the student a Raffles DIPLOMA. Students may also obtain the Level I Master’s Diploma accredited by Marconi University, provided they hold a recognized three-year DAPL degree and pay the required fee.

Programme Structure

The course includes the following topics:– Context of Italian and international photography– Creativity and creation of new projects– Advertising and corporate– Fashion, beauty and portraiture– Still life– Photojournalism and photo editing– Storytelling– Technology and digital creativity– Portfolio creation

In addition to these subjects, students will have the opportunity to visit galleries and photographic exhibitions in urban settings and beyond, as well as have the opportunity to exhibit their own work. Students will have the opportunity to meet and learn from nationally and internationally renowned photographers.

Audience

Candidates with a degree in photography, videomaking and cinema, visual design, advertising, or visual arts, or with professional experience in photography and visual communication. The Master is designed for those who wish to deepen their knowledge of contemporary photography, turning their passion into a profession, with a focus on publishing, shooting, and developing a personal portfolio.

Lecturers

Davide Gallizio: Milan-based freelance photographer specialising in fashion and beauty. He has collaborated with major magazines and brands including Dolce&Gabbana, Armani, Etro, Alberta Ferretti, Shiseido and L’Oréal. His work also spans interiors, still life, lifestyle and travel, with a focus on capturing people through his lens.

We will assess your interests and motivations, discuss your academic background and help you choose the right course.

We will need your ID or Passport, your CV, a motivational letter, if available we will also need a Portfolio and a Language certificate. Further documents such as previous academic qualifications or statement of family income for EU students will be required later.

We will let you meet with the course leader, the scientific director or a member of the faculty. The online interview will revolve around your submitted documents and will include a language assessment, if necessary.
We will send you the Admission Certificate (upon request), Enrollment Form and Payment Details Form so that you can complete the paperwork. You will receive Enrollment Certificate (and VISA kit, if applicable) after completing the payment of the Enrollment Fee. You will also receive a payment plan for the Tuition fees.
