Key Facts

To have a complete load of four-course units per semester, the student will be required to register for three other courses in each semester as shown. The choice of such courses will depend on the advice of the supervisor and the research direction of the dissertation. The student’s thesis topic will have to be approved by the department before admission.

The second year in the Geology (Research) program at University of Zambia will consist of thesis work, accompanying field work and data processing, so that it can be completed by the end of the academic year.

Applicants for the above (c and i) must possess

A Bachelors of Mineral Science degree with a merit or better from the University of Zambia or its equivalent from any recognized University;

Alternative Criteria: In special circumstances, candidates in possession of bachelor’s degree with credit and at least 2 years relevant work experience may be considered.
