Overview
The Master of Mental Health Nursing at Edith Cowan University has a focus on evidence-based practice and leadership and management and will prepare you to support staff in the clinical setting using strategies such as coaching and mentoring as these are core skills required by nurse leaders and researchers.
Career Opportunities
The 2021 National Study of Mental Health and Wellbeing estimated that more than two in five Australians aged 16-85 years will have experienced a mental illness in their lives. In recognition of the increased prevalence of mental illness, the WA Government has increased expenditure for mental health services to expand the workforce and increase the number of hospital and community beds across the state.
This means employment in a range of settings, such as mental health units and hospital emergency departments, community mental health centres, case management and outreach centres, private counselling or psychiatry practices, schools and government agencies, including rehab programmes, and correctional facilities.
