Overview
With this Environmental Health programme from Leeds Beckett University you will develop your understanding of environmental stress factors and their effect on human health and safety, together with the legal and technical frameworks for controlling these risks.
The opportunity to interact with students from other vocational courses will broaden your perspective of environmental health issues, and you will have access to our state-of-the-art acoustics laboratory and our dedicated food inspection facilities to put your expertise into practice.
You will also have the chance to engage in simulated sessions, including mock kitchen inspections and staged courtroom trials to see how the law operates in environmental health cases. These scenarios could help you work towards professional registration as an environmental health practitioner.
Career
Subject to meeting CIEH requirements, you will be eligible to become a graduate member of the institute. You could then progress towards becoming a registered environmental health practitioner following completion of a Portfolio of Professional Practice and a professional interview. Your portfolio could be shaped by your placement experience and course activities. It may also include evidence derived from course activities or other types of work experience.
