The MScin Community Mental Health Nursing programme at the Dundalk Institute of Technology will be applicable to the following:
Mental health nurses who have been employed in inpatient psychiatric hospitals for most of their career to date and are moving to work in community mental health services. These nurses will require re-education and reorientation to a community mental health service.Mental health nurses who are currently working in a community setting and wish to be upskilled with a refocused practice in line with Sharing the Vision: A Mental Health Policy for Everyone.Graduates of the BSc (Hons) in Mental Health Nursing.Nurses who work within practice settings that engage with individuals who may experience mental health issues.Programme Structure

General requirements
- Applicants must:
- Be a Registered Psychiatric Nurse with NMBI or equivalent
- Be currently employed in a setting providing services for individuals who experience a mental health disorder
- All applicants will hold a relevant Level 8 qualification in Nursing
- Applicants who do not have a level 8 qualification may apply for entry to the programme in accordance with the procedures outlined in the DkIT Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) policy. (view policy) Learn more about RPL at DkIT
- International students must have a minimum level of English equivalent to IELTS 6.5. Candidates may be interviewed.
