Overview
Graduates of the Applied Computational Mechanics program at Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology (Skoltech) will become leaders in research and development of modern computational tools required by high-tech industries.
Learning outcomes
Students will:
- gain a deep understanding of fundamentals of continuum mechanics, applied mathematics and modeling, numerical methods, scientific software development, and use of modern software tools, including advanced open-source software in mechanics
- be able to specialize in modern areas of advanced computational fluid dynamics, theory and computation of multi-phase flows, computational engineering, and methods of applied machine learning
- gain a good understanding of the needs of modern high-tech industries through involvement in joint industry-oriented research projects with partner companies
- be able to document their results and efficiently communicate via publications and conference presentations
- gain experience in conducting interdisciplinary collaborative research with national and international colleagues
