The course provides an understanding of the specific characteristics of Science and Technology in Portugal, both in historical terms and in the analysis of contemporaneity as well as it offers a first contact with the area of conservation and musealization of the Portuguese scientific and technological heritage.

The interdisciplinary nature of the History and Philosophy of Science MSc program from University of Lisbon brings together theoretical and methodological approaches from different scientific areas to enable the historical and philosophical study of science and technology as well as of the Portuguese scientific and technological heritage.
The course is therefore identified by its integrated approach to history and philosophy of science, addressing the various dimensions of the Portuguese scientific past. It is complemented by courses on collections, museums and scientific heritage, as well as on science communication, and is open to students of any undergraduate degree.
