Overview
The internationally oriented Transformation Studies program at The Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus - Senftenberg is designed to enable students to understand, scientifically investigate and support the complexity of processes of socio-cultural, socio-technical and socio-economic as well as institutional change in societies in their respective environments. They learn to actively shape transformation processes as part of independently implemented research, development or consulting projects.
Goals
Students learn to understand and investigate transformation processes and to develop concrete solutions and strategies for dealing with crises and challenges. The inter- and transdisciplinary orientation of the course enables students to understand the social, economic and technical aspects of transformation processes in their context from various scientific and everyday perspectives and to acquire methods for investigating and designing transformation and transformation processes.
Professional fields of activityThe course is designed to prepare students for a career in a growing and future-oriented professional field that deals with complex change processes in various transformation fields, for example in the context of structural change in industry, digitalization, climate change and sustainable development, (de)globalization, postmodernism and post-growth.Programme Structure
