Overview
By attending events at both faculties, students are introduced to modern questions and methods in mathematics as well as in mathematical and theoretical physics. The range of courses is designed jointly by the faculties of physics and mathematics.
This Mathematical and Theoretical Physics program at Bielefeld University is designed to enable students to understand the mathematically precise formulation and the physical relevance in scientific work, including interdisciplinary work, to classify it critically and to present its essential content in an understandable way. The degree acquired should enable students to pursue a doctorate in theoretical physics or mathematics. This master's degree also enables them to enter one of the many careers open to these two disciplines.
