Key facts

As there is currently very little research in this area, the Department of English Instruction hence plans to integrate the faculty in language development and English instruction to establish the English Instruction program at University of Taipei which is aimed at cultivating more research talent in English instruction to cope with English education development in Taiwan.

The research direction of our Master’s program shall not only meet the needs of the society, but also treat the innovation and revitalization of English teaching methods and teaching materials as an important goal. We also expect to consolidate the basic research of English instruction in Taiwan.

From the perspective of language development, we aim to examine the mechanism and outcomes of foreign language learning. With English acquisition of Taiwanese children the as the fundamental subject, we would like to understand their difficulties in learning English to develop substantial ideas and methods in language teaching in the hope of promoting the quality of English teaching in Taiwan.
