Furthermore, a focus is placed on applying the knowledge and skills gained through the programme to real challenges within the manufacturing and mechanical engineering sectors. The programme has been developed to meet the needs of the regional and national engineering industry, which requires graduates with high-level skills in design, analysis and testing. In addition, the course fulfils the requirements of Engineers Ireland for a Master’s degree in an engineering discipline as the minimum educational standard for Chartered Engineer status. The programme has been designed to provide a flexible route to masters qualification and is available in both full-time (2 days per week for 1 year) and part-time (1 day per week for 2 years) delivery modes with significant focus placed on the research dissertation, completed over the duration of the course.
