
Overview
By completing this one-year programme (60 ECTS) you gain advanced scientific and technical knowledge and insights into the sustainable production of energy, the efficiency of energy conversion, the optimization of energy storage, and the intelligent management of various energy systems. Your training will be hands-on with attention to entrepreneurial and communication skills. You will have access to the state-of-the-art lab facilities of EnergyVille. A broad package of elective courses permits you to compile your study programme according to your fields of interest and the competencies you wish to develop further.
The Energy Engineering Technology programme is a joint initiative of the Faculties of Engineering Technology of Hasselt University and KU Leuven University at the Diepenbeek campus in Belgium.

General requirements
- a letter in English (2 pages max) explaining their motivation for the master’s degree programme in Energy Engineering Technology
- a resume (2 pages max) highlighting their academic journey, key experiences and competencies.
Students with a Flemish degree are admitted to the master’s programme in Energy Engineering Technology
- if they hold an academic bachelor’s degree in Energy Engineering Technology or Electromechanical Engineering Technology or equivalent (in English or Dutch).
- if they successfully completed a bridging or preparatory programme that gives access to a master's programme in Energy Engineering Technology (in English or Dutch).
Students with a non-Flemish degree are admitted to the master’s programme in Energy Engineering Technology if they hold an honours bachelor’s degree (B.Sc., B. Tech., B. Eng., etc.) or master’s degree with a broad focus on energy-related domains.
