Overview

Pharmaceutical Engineering is an emerging discipline with huge potential, considering new paradigms in quality for pharmaceutical production. Masters in Pharmaceutical Engineering will have a solid education in Pharmaceutical Technology and Pharmaceutical Process Engineering, prepared to contribute to technological innovation, improve industrial competitiveness and leadership in most areas of pharmaceutical industry.

The Master in Pharmaceutical Engineering at Instituto Superior Técnico is a joint initiative of Instituto Superior Técnico and the Faculty of Pharmacy of University of Lisbon.

Career Prospects:

The majority of the graduates in the Master of Science in Pharmaceutical Engineering are employed in pharmaceutical companies producing active ingredients, formulating finished products, biopharmaceutical companies, regulatory bodies of the pharmaceutical activity in Portugal or abroad, medical device companies or in the hospital area and health systems in general. A few of them have pursued 3rd Cycle studies in institutions in Portugal or abroad (e.g. Germany, Switzerland, Canada).

hold a 1st cycle degree in Science and Technology (except in the case of the 2nd cycle in Architecture, which requires a 1st cycle degree in Architecture);
hold an academic, scientific or professional curriculum that certifies their ability to do the MSc programme which they apply for.

affinity between the degree they hold and the programme they apply for;
type of degree they hold;
academic success in the programme they attended.
