The department has non-academic staff consisting of office and laboratory staff that includes management and professional groups as well as implementation groups. It also has a combination of academic staff and non-academic staff who are highly motivated, innovative, creative and ethical are able to meet the needs of the faculty and also the university in achieving success and top performance.

Mission

The mission of the Pathology (Medical Microbiology) program at University Kebangsaan Malaysia is to improve the understanding of Pathology and Medical Laboratory through innovative and collaborative research and education in order to improve the health standard of the global community.

The Department of Pathology is also determined to achieve excellence in research, service and training in the field of pathology with highly motivated, innovative, competitive and dedicated workforce, working together in an atmosphere that is liberal, tolerant, caring and full of moral and ethical values.

General requirements

A person who intends to apply for a master’s programme should have the following Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree by obtaining a good Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) from a University or any institution of higher learning recognized by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) and/ or having accreditation recognized by a foreign Accreditation Body, or institution who has accreditation as prescribed by a programme;
Doctor of Medicine degree or Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University or any institution of higher learning or an equivalent degree from any institutions of higher learning recognised by the Senate;
any other qualification recognised by the Senate obtained through the Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning (APEL);
fulfils other requirements prescribed by the programme (if applicable) and
fulfils requirements of the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA)
