Overview
At Kristianstad University, we recognize that traditional business practices need to evolve to meet the challenges of today's world. Our Master of Science in Accounting and Auditing is designed to equip you with the knowledge, skills, and mindset to excel in the rapidly changing accounting and auditing landscape while promoting sustainability business practices.
Our curriculum has been carefully crafted to provide you with a comprehensive understanding of both advanced accounting and auditing perspectives and sustainable business practices. From strategy and management control to international accounting and auditing to sustainability accounting and reporting, in both private and public sectors, you will gain a holistic perspective that prepares you to critically assess and tackle real-world challenges.
As a student you will have access to a network of industry professionals and alumni. You will study alongside a diverse cohort of students from around the world. Through guest lectures, workshops, and networking events, you will build meaningful connections and opportunities.
Programme Structure
The first semester consists of the following courses in business administration:
- Governance and Value Creation for Sustainability 7.5 credits
- Strategy and management control, 7.5 credits
- International accounting 7.5 credits
- International auditing 7.5 credits
The second semester entails further specialisation in business administration through the following courses:
- Sustainability accounting and reporting 7.5 credits
- Advanced research methods in business administration 7.5 credits
- Master thesis in accounting and auditing for sustainable business management 15 credits
The development within the programme takes place through students acquiring knowledge in sustainability, governance and value creation, and by focusing specifically on strategy and governance, international accounting and auditing for both the private and public sectors, as well as sustainability reporting and auditing.

General requirements
Bachelor of Science with the equivalence of 180 credits including at least 90 credits in business administration. At least 15 credits must be in intermediate accounting, management accounting, corporate governance, auditing and at least 15 credits in statistics/business methods and an independent project comprising 15 credits in business administration or equivalent. Verified knowledge of English corresponding to the course English 6 or equivalent.
