Overview
What you'll study
The programme is delivered jointly by Queen Mary University of London 's Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry and the School of Engineering and Materials Science. Through the taught modules, you will develop a strong scientific foundation in the biology of stem cells and regeneration, as well as the fundamental principles of biomaterials, tissue engineering and cellular reprogramming. You will also be given a strong scientific foundation in research methods that will give you the necessary skills to undertake your own research.
In the second and third semester, you will have the opportunity to complete an extended research project. These will primarily be lab-based in our state-of-the-art research facilities, with some bioinformatics projects also available. You will gain hands on experience of discovery research by designing and carrying out your own experiment. You will be provided with training in experimental design, effective collaboration, data analysis, and presentation skills.
