Overview
Physics is offered by TU Dortmund University. The first year of study serves to deepen the students' knowledge of the subject, while the second year is a research phase that is completed with the writing of a Master's thesis.

The study program is divided into modules, which comprise one or more courses. The grades of the module examinations are included in the final grade (weighted according to the credit points of the module). There is no final examination for the entire degree programme. General requirements
The prerequisite for admission to the master's program in physics is a bachelor's degree in physics from the TU Dortmund University or another degree in a comparable course of study of at least three years (six semesters). An overall Bachelor grade better than 3.0 must have been achieved. All details are regulated by the Master Access Regulations and the Examination Regulations of the study program (both in German). Please also note the corresponding Amendment Regulation (also in German): the grade limit for access to the Master's degree in physics has now been changed to 2.9, but exceptional decisions in the case of poorer grades are no longer possible.
