Overview
The Department of Social Work at Asia University, Taiwan was established in 2001. To broaden the scope of the social work education, the department was expanded to include a master's program and a continuing education (bachelor's) program were added in 2005.
Afterwards, the department became part of the College of Health Science. In 2007, the university reorganized its academic units, incorporating the department into The College of Humanities and Social Sciences.Curriculum
The curriculum for this program includes core courses in key aspects of this field, supplemented by electives for specialization.
The Social Work MA program provides:
- 1. Essential background knowledge of the scope, dynamics, and distinctiveness of the social work field.
- 2. Key skills in the social work field, such as working effectively with social workers and volunteers, fundraising, program evaluation, and ethical judgment.
- 3. Theories and methods directing social work field to achieve goals as efficiently and effectively as possible within the framework of social work values.

- Application form attached with a 2-inch recent ID photo
- Highest-level diploma in English or Chinese from the last school you attended
- Official transcript in English or Chinese from the school you attended
- Two letters of recommendation
- One copy of the passport
- One copy of the financial statement with at least US$5,000 deposit within three months
- If the financial statement is not in the name of the applicant, a letter of affidavit from the sponsor must be included.
- Scholarship recipients may submit proof of award in lieu of a financial statement.
- Official language proficiency certificate
- English (TOEFL, IELTS or TOEIC Score Report)
- Chinese (TOCFL or HSK Score Report)
