Description of program

Post Master's Nurse Practitioner Graduate Diploma – This diploma is designed for Master of Science in Nursing graduates who wish to pursue nurse practitioner preparation for the role of the NP.

Programme Structure

The advanced practitioner has a well-developed knowledge base, uses critical thinking, works collaboratively, communicates effectively and demonstrates leadership in nursing.

Advanced nursing practice is developed through the analysis and critique of theoretical work, through critical appraisal and synthesis of evidence from research and a variety of other sources, and through application of knowledge and skills to nursing practice.

Master’s degree in Nursing (minimum 3.0 CGPA); a graduate course in each of statistics, research and nursing theories (minimum ‘B’ (65%) in each);
Bachelor's degree (minimum 3.0 CGPA) in Nursing;
license to practice nursing in Newfoundland and Labrador; and two years (3900 hours) of clinical nursing experience.
