Biomedical Science - Medical Microbiology from Kingston University will help you to develop a comprehensive understanding of the organisms at play in existing and emerging pathogens. You will also explore diagnostic techniques.

The taught modules will introduce you to the fundamentals of microbial pathogenesis. There will also be a large focus on host-pathogen interactions, as well as the control and treatment of microbial infections. You will explore emerging infectious diseases and global health concerns, alongside strategies for disease control and prevention.

General requirements

The typical offer for this course is a 2:2 or above honours degree in biomedical science, medical microbiology, medical genetics, molecular biology, haematology or immunology. Other biology and medical science degrees will be considered on an individual basis.

All applicants must demonstrate sufficient understanding of immunology and medical microbiology. Candidates with non-standard qualifications but with relevant experience are also welcome to apply.
