During the Screen Producing program at University of Melbourne, you'll develop expertise across all aspects of screen producing – from gaining experience in the creative, practical and business functions of this vital role to exploring emerging trends in contemporary screen culture and storytelling.
This degree creates space for you to build networks for your future career, including the kinds of creative partnerships that could last a lifetime. You'll benefit from mentoring by our expert staff at the Victorian College of the Arts, insights from industry guest speakers and active engagement across student cohorts.
Alongside your classroom experiences you'll also collaborate on graduate productions with our masters-level film and television students. Through working in senior production roles you'll gain experience with the tools and strategies used in the industry, refine your understanding of the diverse talents and aspirations that drive screen productions and hone the interpersonal skills to lead creative projects.
By the time you’ve finished your degree, you’ll have produced:
- Two substantial market-ready short films
- A pitch or development proposal to attract future funding
- Either an industry-based attachment or a substantial research project.
You’ll graduate with a balance of theory and experience in working and collaborating across disciplines, ready to establish yourself as a multifaceted producer and creative leader in the screen industry.
