Overview
Overview
If you have a relevant undergraduate major, you'll be able to complete the masters degree in 2 years. Once you’ve started studying, you can specialise in
- Earth Observation
- Energy Systems
- Water Systems, or
- continue without specialising
During the Environmental Engineering program at University of Melbourne you will be guided by world leading academics specialising in energy, hydrology, hydraulics, water resources and waste management. Our experts are working on exploring wave dynamics, removing sludge from wastewater, turning any water into drinking water, and using drones in viniculture.
In your first year you’ll complete foundation engineering subjects – tailored to students from a non-engineering background. If you’ve completed the Environmental Engineering Systems major in your bachelor’s degree, plus the required maths and science subjects, you’ll receive credit for these foundation engineering subjects and start in second year.
In the second and third year of the program, you’ll focus on your chosen engineering discipline. As an environmental engineering student you will be guided in designing and building sustainable solutions to environmental problems, and focus on climate change, water scarcity and bushfire management. You’ll undertake an industry, design or research project and gain the skills and knowledge to practice as a professional engineer.
