The Master of Science in Biological Science provided by University Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) provided knowledge advancement in biological research is critical in a variety of applications such as the food and pharmaceutical sectors, medical services, agriculture and biodiversity conservation.
Background
IPSR serves as a central coordinating body for all the postgraduate programmes pursued in the university. It conduct of administrative activities relating to teaching and research involving postgraduate studies and research in general and in particular, for coordinating all postgraduate programmes offered by the Faculties and to facilitate programme administration which includes Admission, Student Records, Viva Examination and Postgraduate Activities and ensuring that postgraduate programmes are more effectively promoted. . All these are done to ensure that the postgraduate programmes are well administered, monitored and assessed to provide the best possible postgraduate experience.

General requirements
(a) A Bachelor’s Degree in the field or related fields with CGPA of 2.75 and above or equivalent as approved by the Senate; or
(b) A Bachelor’s Degree in the field or related fields or equivalent with CGPA of 2.50 and above but less than CGPA of 2.75, subject to rigorous internal assessment; or
(c) A bachelor’s degree in the field or related fields or equivalent with minimum CGPA of 2.00 but less than CGPA of 2.50, and show evidence of at least five (5) years of relevant working or research experience can be accepted subject to rigorous internal assessment; or
(d) Candidates without a Bachelor’s degree in the related fields or relevant working or research experience must undergo appropriate prerequisite courses determined by UTAR and meet the minimum CGPA set out in (a) to (c).
