- Non-Chinese citizenship with a valid passport
- Good moral conduct and good health
- A friendly relation with China and commitment to observe Chinese laws and university rules
- Applicants currently residing in China should apply at least 40 days before the expiration of their residence permit.
- Applicants with Chinese parents residing abroad must have foreign nationality from birth, hold a valid foreign passport or nationality certificate for at least 4 years, and provide a record of at least 2 years of actual residence in a foreign country during the last 4 years, with more than 9 months in a year counted as one year.
- Meeting academic requirements for the program
- Language proficiency requirements: TOEFL 60 (at least) or IELTS 5 (at least) or equivalent
- Academic credentials equivalent to bachelor degree, two recommendation letters from associate professors or professors and a study plan of 1000 words.
