Overview
The theoretical component of the Media Theory and Practice course from University of Cape Town introduces students to concepts underpinning digital culture and global journalism, including an exploration of convergence and the role of the Internet and social media in journalism production.
Overview
Key skills include digital recording, field interviewing and research, news writing and news production across different platforms and for different audiences, photography and elementary media production with a focus on print, audio and visual storytelling.
In their final semester, students conceptualise, research and create a cohesive body of creative journalistic work in a variety of formats.
