Overview
In University of Cape Town's studios, and our important relationship with the profession, graduates of Landscape Architecture pursue design innovation and quality, and we encourage our students to design landscapes that provide rich aesthetic experiences, are socioeconomic and ecological catalysts, and function as fun, safe places that hope to bring communities together.
Overview
A qualifying degree in landscape architecture provides learners with the knowledge, values and skills to enter the profession of landscape architecture. It is focused on developing independent critical inquiry in preparation for practice in a diverse and changing world.
Students are given considerable freedom and support to develop a reflective, critical and speculative relationship to their work. The qualification is a pre-requisite for statutory registration as a Candidate Landscape Architect with the South African Council for the Landscape Architectural Profession (SACLAP), in terms of the Landscape Architectural Profession Act, Act 45 of 2000.
