Overview
The MA Arts and Cultural Leadership programme at LASALLE College of the Arts equips practitioners and managers with leadership capabilities for the dynamic and fast-evolving cultural and creative sectors. It complements individuals seeking to harness their creativity and nurtures leaders who can adapt to complex environments to take on leadership roles in community initiatives, public institutions, the private and commercial sectors, and non-profit organisations.
Drawing on the strength of Singapore as a global cultural and economic hub of the 21st century, you will go through a close study of emerging theories in arts and management, applied creative and entrepreneurial practices as advanced by ‘leaders in action’, and practical engagement with arts, heritage and creative communities in Asia.
You are challenged to explore complex cultural, economic and socio-political issues to develop your capacity to expand your impact in various communities, including policymaking bodies, cultural institutions, grassroots organisations, the market, and artists and creative practitioners from varied disciplines.
The programme emphasises a dynamic peer-learning environment to enable individual self-reflection and critique, the establishment of individual and collective cause and purpose, and the opportunity for you to discover your own approach to leadership.
Graduates lead in diverse areas in the private, governmental and non-profit sectors, and have started their own enterprises and community initiatives, or have gone on to further their postgraduate research in the arts.
