Overview
This course provides an opportunity for trained practitioners in physiotherapy and physical therapy, to extend their learning within a specific area of sports injuries and rehabilitation.
The programme will allow students to develop detailed anatomical and applied functional knowledge, while enhancing scientific research skills within sports performance evaluation, applications of clinical practice and frameworks for scientific research.
Students may also gain clinical experience within our fully operational and equipped injury and rehabilitation clinic.
The degree is especially ideal for those applicants who are qualified to practice as a physiotherapist in their country, but wish to enhance their employability within this field.

There are seven core modules, including a dissertation of around 10,000 words (Sport and Exercise Science Research Dissertation).

General requirements
It is usually expected that applicants hold a license to practice physiotherapy or related physical therapy.
The normal academic standard for entry is a lower second honours degree in physiotherapy. Graduates with related degrees or other suitable qualifications will be considered on an individual basis. Applicants with strong professional experience are also invited to apply.
Equivalent overseas qualifications will be accepted and international students are expected to meet the University’s English qualification requirements.
