Overview
The MAS in Microinvasive Aesthetic Dentistry at the University of Geneva aims to deepen theoretical and practical knowledge acquired during the baseline studies in the field of conservative dental treatment and microinvasive aesthetic dentistry. It fosters dental practitioners’ excellence in their practice.
It is based on the latest scientific and clinical research and offers a theoretical and practical programme of high quality. It is intended for practitioners aiming to perfect themselves and be able to meet the current national and international technological criteria linked to the rapid and irreversible evolution of our profession. This continuing training is currently the only of this type in Switzerland.
Objectives
- Develop the theoretical basis for a microinvasive approach in conservative dental treatments, i.e. aiming for a minimum of intervention and optimal preservation of healthy dental tissues
- Develop excellence of practitioners in the field of aesthetic microinvasive dentistry
- Understand and interpret up-to-date international literature in the fields of aesthetic and restorative dentistry
- Organise dental treatments in a global approach to the patient : master the latest diagnostics tools (photography, X-ray, Diagnocam, Digital Smile Design, etc...) and know how to select the most appropriate treatment taking into account theoretical knowledge of other specialties related to esthetic dentistry, such as prevention and emergency care, pedodontics, endodontics, periodontics and implantology, orthodontics and maxillofacial surgery, prosthodontics and gnathology
