Overview

The Design, Multimedia and Visual Communication Master is offered by Sapienza University of Rome. Graduates in Design, Visual and Multimedia Communication acquire during the two-year period the skills, tools and methodologies pertinent to the design and production of communicative artifacts in the fields of typography, graphics, advertising and publishing, multimedia, interactive and hypermedia communication, of information design, of the planning and creation of tangible and intangible artefacts also for the sphere of performing and exhibit design.

The training activity concerns the following main topics: identity design (ie the institutional and corporate image and its close relationship with the design of services); the design of typographic characters, editorial graphics, the design of information and communication systems (infographics), communication of public utility; multimedia and interactive design and communication, kinetic graphics, movie and new media design; performing design and exhibit design.

The educational path structured over the two-year course integrates theoretical knowledge and laboratory activities in the fields of multimedia design, visual and graphic design and exhibit design.

As the last stage of the two-year training course, students are expected to acquire "other knowledge useful for entering the world of work", through participation in supplementary courses, seminars, workshops and internships, both in Italy and abroad. General requirements

Candidates are required to have a Master degree in Earth Sciences according to the European Qualification Framework.

Persons that have a degree issued by non-EU universities can be admitted to the course in the case that the Scientific Educational Council recognizes it sufficient for admission.

The course will be financed by tuition fees, contributions from ENOS project and possible donations by other public and private institutions, within their national regulations. Teacher mobility will be financed through those sources, while extra expenses for student mobility (travel, food and accommodation expenses) will be covered by each student. Between 8 and 10 students are planned and reduction of the tuition fee is planned during the ENOS project, dependable on the number of students.
