Key Features

The Biology - Ecosystems and Aquatic Ecology program at Uppsala University has it's focus on lakes and rivers as well as their physical, chemical and, in particular, biological processes. By studying their interactions, you will become acquainted with how ecosystems work and how humans affect them. This specialisation prepares you for jobs in water and natural resource management and is connected to ongoing research.

General requirements

A Bachelor's degree, equivalent to a Swedish Kandidatexamen, from an internationally recognised university.Also required is:

40 weeks of full-time studies (60 credits) in biology; and

20 weeks of full-time studies (30 credits) in chemistry.

Selection: Students are selected based on:

a total appraisal of quantity and quality of previous university studies; and

a statement of purpose (1 page).
