Overview
At the International and European Governance MSc programme at Leiden University you learn to formulate governance solutions to address cross-border societal challenges. You will do this by applying state-of-the-art scientific knowledge of EU and International institutions and decision-making processes.
It provides you a deep understanding of the complex, multi- layered nature of contemporary public governance and cross-border societal issues. You will gain state-of-the-art insights in how governments and stakeholders from the public and private sector can work together in complex multi-level governance systems.
The master degree in Public Administration: International and European Governance offered by Leiden University prepares you for positions in international organisations as well as national public and private sector organisations that need to cope with the implications of an increasing global policy-making environment.

General requirements
You are eligible for direct enrolment in the Master Public Administration if you have obtained:
- Bachelor’s diploma of a recognized Public Administration program from a research university (WO), or
- Bachelor’s diploma from a research university (WO) provided that the person has earned at least 50 EC for components related to the field of Public Administration and can demonstrate competence in the methodology of social science research as evidenced by prior course work, or
- Bachelor’s diploma from a research university (WO) provided that the person has completed the minor Public Administration : Multi-Level Governance or the minor Bestuurskunde: Openbaar Bestuur, Beleid en Management at Leiden University and can demonstrate competence in the methodology of social science research as evidenced by prior course work.
