A candidate may take up to four years to complete the Master of Nursing programme.

Career:
Graduates of this Nursing programme from Waikato Institute of Technology may be employed in advanced nursing practice positions such as nurse practitioner, as management, research, education, clinical leaders, independent practice, or enter into further study at Doctorate level.
Completed written work can be used as part of the application for registration as a Nurse Practitioner.

General requirements
- Candidates are required to have:
- A Wintec Postgraduate Diploma in Nursing, with a grade average of B or better, or
- Equivalent. Candidates from another tertiary organisation must have an equivalent qualification with a grade average of B or better and deemed to have reached the learning outcomes of the compulsory modules of the Wintec Postgraduate Diploma in Nursing programme.
- All candidates are required to have graduate nursing experience in the health sector demonstrated in a professional portfolio.
