Overview

Synthetic Biology degree at Darmstadt University of Technology directly address the interdisciplinary approach of synthetic biology and optimally prepares students for this exciting new research and professional field.

This degree program does not stop by teaching scientific knowledge. You will gain the ability to think creatively and innovatively and to work independently. Through our strong focus on practical experience and research, you will be able to transfer your theoretical knowledge into practice and develop your own projects. This project work is completed with training in intercultural and scientific communication.

Careers

Potential career areas for master in synthetic biology include, for example: Life sciences and biotechnology and here especially emerging technology fields within the bioeconomy such as gene therapy, medical technology, biosensors, bioinformatics and data analytics. Potential career areas also include science journalism, administrative or expert activities and consulting, for example in technology assessment, genetic engineering, patenting and biosafety.
