Overview
The Physiotherapy Postgrad.Dip from University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg is done part-time, the distribution of course over the two years is as follows:
- Anatomy, Physiology, Pathology lectures and practicals – year 1
- Area of specialisation (NMS or Sport) – year 2
- The Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology courses consist of four face-to-face contact weeks consisting of lectures (blended learning) and practicals spread out throughout the first year. The final examinations is performed over a period of two to three weeks at the end of the year.
- The specialisation course consists of five face-to-face contact weeks consisting of lectures (blended learning), workshops and clinical exposure spread out throughout the year. The final examinations are performed over a period of two weeks at the end of the year.

To be eligible for the Postgraduate Diploma in Physiotherapy, applicants must hold a BSc/B (Physiotherapy) degree and show evidence of one-year clinical experience (which can be the community service/ internship year).
An active registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) is required.
