The degree programme presupposes basic knowledge and skills in chemistry, biochemistry, biology, physics, mathematics and statistics as well as in methodological scientific thinking. The education qualifies students for responsible positions in academia, the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries, and in public services.
The Master’s degree programme in Biochemistry - Chemical Biology at ETH Zurich - Swiss Federal Institute of Technologyoffers comprehensive training in all aspects of chemical biology and the adjacent areas. Itsgraduates are qualified to hold responsible positions in academia, the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries and public services.
The professional and methodological training is supplemented by a choice of general education courses in the humanities, social and political science.

- Specialization in core subjects in the area of chemical biology
- Electives on biochemical, chemistry, molecular, systems and microbiological topics and molecular analysis
- Semester projects to become familiar with the scientific way of working and to work on a current research topic
- Master´s thesis project (6 months)
